Dorms

Connecticut College provides each student with their own ethernet connection.
The ethernet connection provides students with access to the internet as well as access to the colleges academic resources.

Required to Connect:

Ethernet card. Most new computers come with built in Ethernet cards, but if your older computer
doesn´t have one, you will want to get one installed before arriving on campus.
Ethernet patch cord (Category 5). It´s a good idea to bring a short(7 ft) and a long ethernet patch cord(25 ft) in case the desk is far away from the location of the data jack.
Manufacturers Operating System CD. You may need this CD to load components on your system
that may not be installed. It is a good idea to have this CD on hand if you need assistance.

Shain Library

There are ports available in Shain library to plug your laptop into. They are located on the first floor and on the second floor (at the study carrolls).
The Circulation Desk has a limited number of laptops with wireless connections available to check out for use in the Library.
Wireless coverage is also available throughout the library.
