Connecting to and using the software library
In order to connect to the software server you must first be connected via ethernet/VPN to the network.
The software folder can be accessed through a web browser by going to http://butternut.conncoll.edu, logging in, and clicking the “Software Folder” link, or through drive mapping.
Drive mapping:
Windows XP/Vista
Click on the Start Menu![]()
Right-Click My Computer/Computer, and click “Map Network Drive.”

Select a drive letter and input “\\cherry\software.”

Click the “Connect using a different user name.” option and input your Conn username/password. Also, make sure that "Reconnect at logon" is not checked.

Click “OK” and then click “Finish.” The drive will now appear in “My Computer” as a network drive.
Mac
On the menu bar, click “Go” and then “Connect to Server.”

Input “smb://cherry.conncoll.edu/software” and click “Connect.”

In the authentication window that pops up, input your Conn username/password, as well as the domain CONNCOLL, if it is not already filled in.

The drive will be mapped and an icon will appear on your desktop that will allow you to access the files.
