Abstract Information

The submission date for abstracts is Thursday, May 1, 2008.

Abstracts are required for all oral and poster presentations and should be formatted as follows: Title (in bold) line(s) (only first word should be capitalized), followed by author(s) and affiliation(s) with the Presenter's name underlined, followed by the text (in one single paragraph). The text should contain up to 300 words, and the whole abstract should be typed using Times New Roman font 12 pt., left aligned and with single spaced lines. Please see an example of a correctly formatted abstract below.

An inventory of scaled chrysophytes from the Atlantic Coastal Plain of North Carolina, USA, and their relationships to environmental variables.  A.M. Lott and P.A. Siver, Botany Department, Connecticut College, New London, CT, USA.

The purpose of this study was to catalog the diversity of silica-scaled Chrysophyceae and Synurophyceae from a suite of lakes located within three primary regions along the Atlantic Coastal Plain of North Carolina, and to relate the distributions to environmental variables. Phytoplankton, periphyton, and surface sediments from each of the 28 sites were collected in May and June of 2001 and later analyzed extensively with both scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and light microscopy (LM) for scaled chrysophytes.  In addition, water samples were...
