About the Awards
We invite your department to nominate an outstanding graduating senior chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical engineering major to receive our Student Award from the Connecticut Valley Section (CVS) of the American Chemical Society. Given to the outstanding graduating senior from each college and university in our section, this award includes a certificate of merit, a one-year membership in the American Chemical Society, and a $75.00 award. All Student Award recipients and their faculty nominators are invited to be guests of the CVS at a luncheon in their honor. We encourage you to have your award winner present her/his work at the undergraduate symposium before the luncheon. An incentive for participation is the Anna J. Harrison Award for the best talk presented by a female student; this carries a $1000 prize.
