Study Away
The dance department encourages students to take advantage of study away opportunities during their junior year to study dance and other subjects through the Office of National and International Programs and to apply to SATA (Study Away and Teach Away) programs the College may offer.
The dance department facilitated two TRIP (Travel Research and Immersion Program) in recent years. In 2000, Professor Lan-Lan Wang led six dance majors on a 21-day trip to Shanghai and Yunnan Province in China with a focus of comparative study of contemporary and ethnic dances of China. In 2002, ten students, including majors from dance, art, international relations, English, East Asian languages and cultures, Hispanic studies, anthropology, participated in a 19-day border-crossing TRIP from Vietnam to China led by Professor of Dance Lan-Lan Wang, Professor of Art History Barbara Zabel and Professor of Government Bill Frasure.
No matter what their major, Connecticut College encourages its students to take advantage of opportunities to study abroad.
