Study Away

In many economics courses, you'll gain an appreciation for the interdisciplinary connection of economics with foreign affairs and international relations, government, history, sociology and other disciplines that lie at the core of the liberal arts tradition.

Thus, the economics department encourages its students to study away or abroad. Visit the Study Away site to learn of the numerous study away programs offered by other institutions and sponsored by Connecticut College.

In addition, Connecticut College sponsors its own, unique, Study Away Teach Away (SATA) programs in which a small group of Connecticut College students and one or two faculty spend a semester abroad together.

Two of our economics faculty members, Professors Jensen and Peppard, regularly lead SATA Vietnam, providing our students a unique opportunity to study the fast-growing economy of southeast Asia. SATA Vietnam has an incredible impact on the amount and breadth of knowledge gained by economics majors.
