History

We are rewriting history at Connecticut College - the traditional notion of a history major, that is.

As a history major, you can join the academic department with the largest number of professors and that is one of the largest majors. We are an unusually diverse department with expertise in not only American history, but also that of Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.

You'll be able to explore these regions in great depth, thanks to professors with expertise in China, Japan, India, the American West and South, as well as New England. In addition, you will be exposed to the history of Connecticut College's home region through such classes as maritime history and witchcraft in New England.

If you study history at Connecticut College, you'll be exposed to a diversity of countries, periods of history, and intellectual perspectives.
