Music

Our department of music seeks to distinguish itself among liberal arts college music departments in the United States. Our curriculum is modeled on the best features of both the music conservatory and a large university school of music.

The music program offers you the choice of two different majors (music or music & technology) and five different concentrations, as well as a teaching certificate program in music education.

You may receive applied instruction and private music lessons on any orchestral instrument, as well as classical guitar, voice, piano, organ and harpsichord.

You may receive applied instruction through private lessons. Please consult the department about requirements for these lessons. Connecticut College charges no additional fee for these lessons, thanks to the Jack Niblack '98 Music Lessons Fund.

Whether you are contemplating a career in music or simply enjoy learning and making music, the department is here for you.
