October 13, 14, 2011:  “Sufism As a Mediating Force in South Asia,”  a symposium,
will bring together noted scholars to discuss the role of Sufism — an ascetic, mystical dimension of Islam — in the Islamic community of South Asia.

 

The religious studies department also works closely with the College's Center for the Comparative Study of Race and Ethnicity. In 2008, the Center's student-led seminar explored how society might memorialize the war on terror.
