Study Away
The Slavic Studies department offers a variety of opportunities for study away, such as SATA Prague and study-abroad programs at international universities. The department encourages its majors to study abroad during their junior year through one of the following approved programs:
- American Councils for International Education (ACTR/ACCELS) program in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Vladimir
- Middlebury College program in Irkutsk, Moscow and Yaroslavl
- O'Neill National Theater Institute - Moscow Art Theater program
The department organizes its own SATA program in Prague, Czech Republic, which has been offered four times since 1999.
The department conducted the first fully-funded TRIP Russia in Spring 2008 for students taking the Elementary Russian sequence and kept a blog of the experience. Follow the second TRIP Russia 2009 through the blog.
