Visiting Lecturer

The department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Connecticut College invites applications for a three-year visiting lecturer position in Chinese starting July 2009.

Qualifications include an MA (Ph.D. preferred) in Chinese language, linguistics or related disciplines, native or near-native proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English, ability to use both simplified and traditional characters, expertise in language pedagogy, and experience teaching Chinese at the university level. The candidate is expected to be able to teach Chinese at all levels; the teaching load is three courses (which may include two intensive courses) per semester. The candidate is also expected to provide service and support to the department.
