CONNECTICUT COLLEGE seeks a highly skilled, creative editorial professional to edit and produce the College’s flagship publication CC: Connecticut College Magazine. This is an exciting opportunity to refresh and renew a well-regarded print publication and to direct a strategic expansion of its digital presence.

The editor will plan, edit and produce CC: Magazine three times a year and the e-newsletter CC: Now on a monthly basis. S/he will also plan and oversee a redesign of the print magazine, the design and introduction of a digital edition, and a redesign of the magazine’s web presence for greater impact and integration with other College communications.

The successful candidate will have a sophisticated understanding of how to recognize, develop and tell compelling stories in print and digital media; exceptional writing and editing skills; and a strong visual sense and understanding of how design supports editorial content. S/he will have 3-5 years’ experience producing a college or non-profit magazine and at least one year creating, editing and/or curating content for the web and social media. A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, liberal arts or a related field is required.

Reporting to the vice president for College Relations, the editor will help develop the College’s communications strategy, be a member of the College Relations leadership team and contribute to special editorial projects as assigned. The editor will oversee the work of a writer/content producer and the magazine-related work of the senior designer. S/he will also manage production budgets, scheduling, student interns and freelance work for the magazine and newsletter.
