CONNECTICUT COLLEGE, a highly selective private liberal arts college, located in the historic seaport of New London, seeks a highly accomplished Instructional Design Librarian to lead the development and coordinate the delivery of the seminar and workshop series for faculty on using instructional technologies and scholarly resources to enhance teaching and learning. The successful candidate will also work directly with faculty to assess course needs and to incorporate appropriate academic technologies and scholarly research skills within the curriculum, and participate in the research skills instruction program in assigned areas.
The successful candidate will also research and select academic software/applications, and coordinate and provide instruction on using the software and applications to enhance learning. Provide technical support and instruction to faculty and students using academic technologies and scholarly resources. Develop and implement projects with faculty and staff that further the integration of information resources into the curriculum. Act as a liaison to academic departments. Research new academic resources, evaluate for acquisition, recommend, and introduce new technologies to the campus, work with other members of the Instructional Technology Team and the Research Support and Instruction Team in Information Services on projects, concentrating on the design and enhancement of the curriculum. Provide expertise for software/application integration into the curriculum. Actively participate in the profession including research publication and conference presentations.
A Master’s degree in Library or Information Services from an ALA-accredited institution or a master’s degree in instructional technology with preference given to candidates holding degrees from both areas. Familiarity with current technologies to support teaching including social media, mobile technologies, and other emerging IT/Library technologies. Excellent teaching skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and analytical skills. Well-organized, able to work under pressure and as a member of a team.
