Marketing Communications Project Manager

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE, a highly selective private liberal arts college, located in the historic seaport of New London, seeks a highly skilled and experienced marketing communications project manager to ensure that the College’s print and digital marketing communications projects are on time, on budget and of the highest quality. Reporting to the director of marketing communications, the marketing communications project manager is a key contributor to the College’s most important strategic communications efforts including CC: Connecticut College Magazine, admission and advancement communications, and the Connecticut College website.

The Project Manager will coordinate pre-production activities including scheduling kickoff meetings, writing project specifications, developing project plans and creating budgets and production schedules. S/he will manage communications projects on a day-to-day basis and oversee quality assurance for all projects, including oversight of the copyediting and proofreading process and ensuring compliance with the College’s editorial style.  S/he will act as project liaison between College Relations and other college offices to ensure successful delivery of project milestones and all deliverables; write, edit and proofread communications as needed; and provide direction to student workers. Also, s/he will work closely with the Editor of CC: Connecticut College Magazine to provide project management, production support and overall quality assurance for the College magazine.

Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of applicable experience required.  Experience with project management tools and techniques along with using web content management system (CMS) and a strong understanding of print and digital design, layout and production processes are a necessary to succeed in this position; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact well with a variety of people from all aspects of the college and community.
