Study Abroad Coordinator

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE seeks a coordinator to work full time (37.5 hours/week), academic year (44 weeks) providing support to the Director by assisting and advising students on information regarding study abroad opportunities. S/he will be working with the Faculty Study Away Committee’s to help enhance the College’s mission through promoting carefully selected study away programs that encourage an understanding of international people, groups, cultures, languages, and global issues.
The coordinator will be responsible for assisting and advising students on study abroad opportunities; manage student pre and post departure workshops and informational meetings; assist with VISA applications/paperwork; reconcile budget reports submitted by faculty; maintain student files/databases and study abroad library/literature; update materials for campus web site; supervise work-study students; train/supervise study away peer mentors; other duties as assigned or as necessary.
Bachelor’s degree with 3-4 years of experience in related field required, work experience in the field of international education preferred. Must be proficient in MS Office, possess basic accounting skills, ability to update and manage websites. Candidate must have the ability to interact well with a diverse body of students and variety of people from all aspects of the College and community.
