Invasive Plants
Exotic invasive plants of the Northeast
Connecticut is home to many plants, some of which are considered invasive exotics. They are called exotic because they are not native to our region, and invasive because they are able to reproduce on their own outside of cultivation and have become so abundant that they cause a variety of problems. For more information on this topic, see the Connecticut Invasive Plant Working Group Website.
The Arboretum is currently sponsoring a Waterford Residents Invasive Species Survey project.
