Summer Sustainability Internships

Since 2000, the Environmental Model Committee (EMC) and the Goodwin-Niering Center for Conservation Biology and Environmental Studies have worked together to sponsor a summer internship designed to give a Connecticut College student the opportunity to work on projects that would further the environmental sustainability of the College. The Summer Sustainability Interns to date are listed below.

Internship project topics have included:

  • Tracking greenhouse gas emissions
  • Waste and recycling
  • Water conservation
  • Construction tracking using Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) guidelines
  • Materials preparation for House Environmental Representatives
  • Creating a College publication
