Zipcar
In 2007, a student initiative brought the concept of Zipcar to the Environmental Model Committee for consideration.
Specifically designed for college and university campuses, this car-sharing service for students, faculty and staff provides a convenient, low-cost transportation alternative that helps to reduce the number of cars on campus. Zipcar estimates that each vehicle they provide takes approximately 20 cars off the road.
Connecticut College contracted with Zipcar to have two vehicles, which arrived on campus in the Fall 2008.
