Campus Printing

The college has moved to one print system, Uniflow, to reduce training overhead, maintenance and to provide additional services. The Canon Uniflow printers/copiers/scanners, also known as Multi-Function Devices (MFDs), are located in the Shain Library, Greer Music Library, the Language & Culture Center, in many academic buildings and in the College Center.

Printing from the computer stations

When you print from any Library Information Commons computer your print job goes to the Uniflow print queue. You can then print your job from one of the MFDs on campus. See list of MFD locations. General instructions on retrieving your print jobs at the MFDs are available here: Retrieving Your Print Jobs (PDF), and are also posted at the MFDs. Instructions for printing your job from the MFD are available here: Releasing Your Print Jobs (PDF) and are also posted at the MFDs..

Printing Costs

As in the past, each student has a $30 allocation of printing for the academic year. Staff and faculty must have an accounting code associated with their Banner ID in order to print. If you do not have an accounting code set up, please contact Chris Barclay at Printing Services at x2373. Printing costs are $.09/double-sided B&W sheet and $.05/single-sided B&W sheet, for color printing the cost is $.18/double-sided sheet and $.10/single-sided sheet.

At the MFD you can view the cost of your print job and proceed with your print job. Your print job remains in the queue for 24 hours. Double-sided printing is the default for black and white; you can change to single-sheet printing at the MFD. Single-sided is the default for color prints. If you exceed your annual $30 allocation, your account will be billed.

Printing from campus dorm rooms or the campus wireless network

Users can e-mail documents to camelprint@conncoll.edu as long as the attachments do not exceed Google's sending limit of 30 MB. Users can then log on to a copier in any location to print the document. The college is working on the drivers to enable students to print from their own computer. Faculty and staff that use a college issued computer will see the Uniflow follow me printer in the printer list. This site will be updated with directions when that capability is available.

Scanning a document to your email

Instructions for scanning a document at an MFD and sending the document to your email are available here:
Scanning using MFDs (PDF) and are also at the MFDs. There is no charge for scanning.

Copying a Document

The MFDs are also copiers. Costs for copying are the same as for printing.

Additional Features

Additional features will be added as they become available such as printing directly from your computer to the MFDs and printing from your mobile devices. This site and signs by the MFDs will be updated as new features become available.

Reminder - print jobs need to be released within 24 hours.
