software that allows visualization of information, to reveal spatial
relationships and trends. It is designed to solve geographic problems
using spatial analysis. It is no longer only the domain of geographers
and environmental scientists but is now being applied to a wide
variety of disciplines, such as religious studies, environmental
psychology, mathematics and economics.
