Library Resources for Alumni
Library Borrowing Priveleges:
Connecticut College alumni are welcome to visit the Charles E. Shain Library and may register for borrowing priveleges by presenting proof of alumni status at the circulation desk.
Database Access:
While on campus alumni may search all of the library's databases and e-resources. The following two databases are now available to alumni only via the Alumni Portal whether on or off campus.
- Academic Search Alumni Edition - login required
Designed for the research needs of the post-college professional. The database provides full text for more than 2,300 journals as well as indexing and abstracting for more than 8,000 journals. The database offers information in nearly every area of academic study including biology, chemistry, engineering, physics, psychology, religion & theology, and more.
- ABI/INFORM - login required
The gold standard for business and management information. The ABI/INFORM family includes ABI/INFORM Global, ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry, and ABI/INFORM Dateline. Combined, they offer the latest business and financial information for researchers at all levels. With ABI/INFORM, users can find out about business conditions, management techniques, business trends, management practice and theory, corporate strategy and tactics, and competitive landscape. It includes in-depth coverage of companies, products, executives, and trends. It allows users to research employment opportunities, compile data on benefits and compensation, learn about corporate strategies, and other topics from a local and regional perspective.

- Directory of Open Access Journals
Covers free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals. Covers all subjects and languages. There are now 2751 journals in the directory.
