Guest Access to Unsecured Network Policy
Approved by Senior Administrators, May 22, 2006 / Reviewed May 21, 2007
Policy
The college does not provide public access to the college network or the Internet.
Guests must agree to abide by the college’s Appropriate Use Policy, the Guest Access to Unsecured Network Policy, and have a valid email address before access to the college network will be granted.
Participants in college conferences and programs may use the Internet via unsecured wired and wireless access in certain locations on campus. Those who stay in the college residence halls during the summer may also access the Internet through an unsecured wired connection in their residence hall rooms.
The college assumes no liability for the guest use of the unsecured access points and guest network.
Procedures
All guest network users will provide contact information, including a valid email address, and agree to the Connecticut College Appropriate Access Policy and the Guest Access to Unsecured Network Policy each time they log onto the unsecured network.
Guests may use these unsecured wireless access points and wired residence hall connections to connect to the Internet, or a guest’s virtual private network (VPN) should one be available. |
