How do I...

Q: How do I renew my books online?

Click the "Catalog" tab (the second tab) in the center box of the Libraries & Technology homepage. Click the "Renew Books" link in the lower right corner of the box. Enter your library barcode or institution ID, your last name and select Connecticut College and click Log in. Then click the small box to the left of the item you wish to renew. Click Request Renew. A new due date should appear at the right.

Q: How do I connect to the wireless network?

Follow the instructions on this page.

Q: How do I find out if the Library subscribes to a specific journal?

From the Libraries & Technology homepage, click on the Journals tab in the search box in the center of the page. Type in the journal title. Results will indicate if we have the journal and whether we have it in print format or electronically via a database.

Q: How do I get an article or book if Connecticut College does not own it?

Consult the Interlibrary Loan section. For a book, first check the CTW Consortium Catalog. If Wesleyan or Trinity owns the book, request it from them. It will take two days to get here. If the book is not available from CTW, or it is a journal article you want, you may request it by clicking on the ILL link from the Libraries & Technology homepage. You will first need to create an ILL account if you have not done that already.

Q: How do I get to online journals and databases from off campus?

Follow the same path you normally would to obtain an online journal or database, from the Research Resources page. You will be prompted for your Connecticut College user name and password (the same as you use to log into email). If you're still having a hard time getting into the resource, contact the reference desk at extension 2655 or refdesk@conncoll.edu.

Q: How do I find something that has been put on Reserve?

Access the Course Reserves page. It will lead to both the electronic and print reserves.

Q: How do I recommend an item for the Library to purchase?

Contact the library liaison in the relevant subject area (see the Library Liaisons list).

Q: How do I reserve a room in the Library?
