Programs for Faculty

Information Services offers workshops and programs to support faculty in using relevant academic technologies within the curriculum.

During the summer, IS holds the Tempel Summer Institute, an immersion workshop for faculty to learn to enhance courses with the use of technology. Also during the summer, IS conducts sessions as part of Camp Teach & Learn, sponsored by the Joy Shechtman Mankoff Center for Teaching & Learning. During the academic year, IS conducts a series of workshops and seminars on Teaching With Technology to support faculty use of technology in the curriculum, and keep faculty up-to-date on new and emerging technologies used in teaching. Reference Librarians and Instructional Technology staff are also frequent featured discussants in the topics covered in the Center for Teaching & Learning's Talking Teaching series.

IS also provides equipment and support to faculty wanting to use technology within courses. The Digital Enhanced Learning Initiative (DELI) provides technology equipment to classes of students for use in their coursework. Faculty also receive support and materials for their own use in teaching and research.

Programs are open to all Connecticut College faculty members.
