Tempel Summer Institute

The Tempel Summer Institute is an annual, one- to two-week immersion program for faculty started in 2000 by a generous gift from Jean C. Tempel, '65. The Institute provides a pedagogical approach to the integration of new technologies into the curriculum, and is taught by Information Services staff and faculty from the Center for Teaching and Learning.

Institute participants learn about instructional technologies that can be used to enhance student learning. Most sessions are hands-on to allow faculty participants to get a better understanding of the technology. There is also project development time for participants to work on creating materials for their courses with the assistance of faculty and staff.

A call for proposals for the Tempel Summer Institute is sent out in the spring semester for participation the following summer. For questions regarding the Tempel Summer Institute, please contact Chris Penniman, Director of Instructional Technology, at x2381.
