Trustees Sally Susman ’84 and Philip R. McLoughlin P ’02 & ’05 to lead searchBarbara Shattuck Kohn ’72, chair of the Board of Trustees, has named two trustees to head the committee that will search for the College’s 10th president. In February, President Norman Fainstein announced that he will resign in June 2006 and will join the faculty as professor of sociology and urban studies in the fall of 2007 after a one-year sabbatical. Sally Susman ’84 and Philip R. McLoughlin, father of Johanna ’02 and Hadley ’05, will co-chair the search committee. McLoughlin is the former chairman of Phoenix Investment Partners Ltd. in Hartford, Conn. He is chair or a member of several mutual fund and corporate boards and serves on the boards of many civic organizations. He became a CC Trustee in 2001; he and his wife, RoseMarie, are co-chairs of the Parents Fund Committee. Susman is executive vice president for global communications at the Estée Lauder Companies Inc. She was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2002 and now chairs the Committee on Trustees. She is a CC career mentor and a former alumni admission representative. The committee will include seven trustees, four faculty members, two students and one member of the College staff. The constituencies are in the process of selecting their representatives. The committee will meet for the first time late this month. “I look forward to working with Phil and Sally, and the entire committee, to bring this search to a successful conclusion,” Kohn said.
