Dear Connecticut College Alumni:

April is Activism Month at CC and the campus is brimming with activity. On the calendar April 21-22 is a conference titled “Activism Now! Dissent and Change on the College Campus.” The keynote speaker is Winona LaDuke, an environmental and indigenous rights activist.

President Fainstein was the host of a March 11-26 tour of Vietnam and China organized by CC and guided by three faculty members. View photos of the trip, and look below for more news:

• Camel pride. Lisey Good ’87 decorates a guest room at the College Club of Boston with her alma mater in mind.
• Who’s on the phone? Meet the CC students who connect with alumni during the Annual Fund phonathon.
• The search is on. A parent and an alum will chair the committee charged with finding President Fainstein’s successor.
• Building a future. CC students pitch in to help a grade school in rural India where Elli Nagai-Rothe ’03 is principal.
• On the court. Women’s tennis standout Beret Remak ’07 defeated the ninth-ranked player in the country.
• Reaping rewards. Four fellowships will support Professor Rhonda Garelick’s work on a new book about Coco Chanel.
