Dear Connecticut College Alumni:

It’s only the middle of July, but fall at CC looks to be spectacular. Silfen field boasts new artificial turf, Fall Weekend is shaping up to be the best yet, and CC’s Asian studies program gets a boost with a new professor and curator for the Chu-Griffis Asian Art Collection. View images from the collection, and read more campus news below.

•  The turf is up! Artificial turf gives Silfen field a new look and improves playing conditions for athletes.
•  Come home this fall. Fall Weekend, Sept. 29-Oct. 2, offers more for alumni this year.
•  Remembering DJ. A year after Alice Johnson’s death, alumni share recollections of this beloved dean.
•  To be 18 again… They are dancers, environmental activists, soccer stars and championship sailors. Students from the Class of 2009 arrive on campus in six weeks from 19 countries and 30 states.
•  Sharper focus on Asia. A gift from Heidi and John Niblack P’98 strengthens CC’s acclaimed Asian studies program — and continues the legacy of Charles Chu.
•  Presidential search. Alumni are invited to make their views known to the Search Committee.
