Dear Connecticut College Alumni:

President Lee Higdon took office on July 1 and was welcomed with gifts from the Student Alumni Association and staff. Check out photos of his first day and catch up on the latest campus news:

•  Extreme makeover. Marshall and Hamilton halls are taking on new identities this summer with updated facades, windows, interiors and furnishings. The refurbished dorms will be ready for students in late August.
•  Meet the interns. Three rising seniors blog about their summer jobs in Washington D.C. and Boston, while aspiring marine biologist Justin Eddings ’07 swims with the dolphins.
•  In tune. Musician Graham Reynolds ’93 writes the soundtrack for “A Scanner Darkly,” a new motion picture starring Keanu Reeves, Robert Downey, Jr., Woody Harrelson and Winona Ryder.
•  It takes a village. A principal at the age of 23, Elli Nagai-Rothe ’03 reflects on progress and aspirations—hers and her students’—as she leaves the helm of a rural school in India.
•  Spring sports. Camel teams finish up a successful spring season and student-athletes receive individual honors.
•  The results are in! It’s the end of the fiscal year and one Reunion 2006 class ranks tops in Annual Fund participation, earning two awards for its efforts.
