Eight alumni join the board

The Connecticut College Alumni Association Board of Directors voted in a new slate of board members June 4.

The new directors will begin three-year terms July 1.

The mission of the association is to foster connections between current and future alumni. The board leads alumni in advancing the interests of the College and supporting its commitment to the liberal arts.

New directors are:

•  Andrew Bogle ’94 graduated from CC with a degree in economics. He received an MBA from Vanderbilt University and currently works in New York City at the Office of Morgan Stanley in the private wealth management division. He volunteers as an alumni admissions representative and a class agent.

•  Carol Blake Boyd ’72, co-founder of the Gulf Shore Literacy Society, lives in Naples, Florida with her husband, Peter and their two sons. She is a vice president of Northern Trust Bank has been a CC volunteer since 1978.

•  Christy Burke ’93 taught English for a year at a Hungarian high school in Budapest following her graduation from Connecticut College. She then worked for Forbes magazine and now is a marketing consultant for the World Software Corp. She lives in New York City.

•  Connie Smith Gemmer ’80 is a managing partner of Barton & Gingold. Her specialty is integrated internal and external communications strategies. She lives in Portland, Maine with her husband, Fred, and their four children. Gemmer serves as a class agent.

•  William Kane ’84 is a vice president at Pfizer Inc. in Manhattan. He lives with his wife Tanya and their children, Morgan and Alexander, in Westport, Conn. He has been a class agent chair, reunion chair and reunion committee member, and is currently a class agent.

•  Chris McDaniel ’94 received his law degree from the American University in 1999 and an MBA from Columbia University in 2003. He is an executive associate at M&T Bank. He serves as an alumni admissions representative, class agent and annual fund council member.

•  Rick Stratton ’96 is the assistant brand manager for S.C. Johnson & Co. and lives with his wife Keri Lynn Sarajian ’96 in Milwaukee. He also has worked with Epigraph Entertainment, creator of Eprairie.com, Flight.com and Guitar.com.

•  Jean Tierney Taub ’58 owns an insurance company and has lived in southern California 28 years with her husband, Donald Taub, a retired Coast Guard officer. They have three children: Kate, Susan and Robert, as well as five grandchildren.
