Men’s and women’s lacrosse

The men’s lacrosse team is coming off a postseason berth in the NESCAC Championship and is ready to build on that playoff experience. Senior captains Ben Courchesne, Topher Grossman, Dave Schwartz and Andy Shopneck will lead the way for head coach Dave Campbell’s squad. CC will host five games in April, including a rematch against their 2004 postseason opponent, Tufts University, April 30.

The women’s lacrosse team will kick off the season with three games in West Palm Beach, Fla. from March 14-18. The Camels ended the 2004 season with a four-game winning streak and are busy preparing for what should be an exciting spring. Head coach Anne Lesch will rely on seniors Paige Diamond, Mary Scott and Sarah Tacy to lead a young squad in the competitive NESCAC.

Men’s and women’s rowing

Spring showcases the scenic waterfront campus and the men and women’s rowing programs are gearing up for an exciting season. Under the direction of Ric Ricci, who is coaching for his 32nd year, and assistant coach Richard Yorke ’02, a young Camel men’s team has an optimistic outlook. In the only home regatta of the spring, the Camels will compete against the neighboring U.S. Coast Guard Academy on the Thames River April 17.

Eva Kovach is in her fifth year at the helm of the Camel women’s rowing program. This season Kovach will look to senior captains Emily Chamberlin and Lauren Schulz for leadership on the water. The Camels will meet the Coast Guard April 10.

Sailing, women’s tennis, track and field and women’s water polo

Head coach Jeff Bresnahan has developed the Camel sailing program into a national power. The Camel women's team qualified for the Atlantic Coast Championship last season and will be led by senior skipper Amanda Clark. The Camels will host three regattas in the month of April, including the Thompson Trophy April 23-24.

Head coach Paul Huch hopes his talented Camel women’s tennis team continues to serve up NESCAC victories. The Camels finished 5-1 in the fall and are 3-1 against conference opponents. On the men's side, junior Ned Minevitz will compete at the #1 singles slot for a young Camel squad. In a rare doubleheader, both the men’s and women’s teams will host the College of New Jersey Sunday, April 3.

The track and field season shifts from indoor to outdoor venues for the spring. Head coach William Wuyke and the Camels will host the CC Invitational March 26 and the Silfen Invitational April 23. Senior co-captains Andrew Russell and Rachel Lamson will lead the Camels into competition.

The women’s water polo team posted five victories in the 2004 season. Head coach JJ Addison will count on senior Kristina Lewis for production in the pool. A 2004 Northeastern Division All-Star, Lewis tallied 21 goals and 30 steals for the Camels. The Camels will host the Northern Division Varsity Championship in Jane Cadwell Lott ’36 Natatorium April 23-24.
