Eleanor H. Geisheimer

Published in The Day of New London, Feb. 24, 2007. A campus memorial service is being planned for Miss Geisheimer.

Eleanor H. Geisheimer, 90, of Robbins Court, Norwich, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at Haven Health Care of Norwich.

Born in New York, N.Y., on May 21, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Anna (Kalicka) Geisheimer.

Miss Geisheimer attended local schools and Connecticut College and was the librarian there for more than 30 years, retiring in 1981.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich, where the funeral will assemble on Monday at 8 a.m. and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church at 9 a.m. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Gifts in memory of Miss Geisheimer may be made to the Murstein Fund, created by Bernard and Nelly Murstein to honor librarians from Eleanor Geisheimer to today. The endowed fund is for library acquisitions in the fields of theater, music and/or dance.
