Dear Connecticut College Alumni:

Students returned from Fall Break this week in time to finish up mid-terms and compete for dorm pride in Camelympics 2005. Also on the calendar this week is a debate of the U.S. Patriot Act by CC government professors and other experts. View images from Fall Weekend and look below for more campus news.

•  Out to sea. Eve Southworth ’05 joins the crew of the Amistad — a reproduction of the historic ship — to share the history she learned at CC.
•  Commencement 2006. A Nobel Prize-winning environmentalist with a special link to CC will deliver the keynote address next year.
•  Beans, robots and oil. Three seniors with varied academic interests share their experiences at CC with prospective students during the College’s annual fall open house.
•  Reaching the top. Four alumni athletes are inducted to the CC Athletic Hall of Fame.
•  Luminous achievements. CC honors members of the Ad Astra Society, those who have given the College $1 million or more.
•  A walk of art. Professor Abby Van Slyck and students delve into the history of downtown New London’s commerce and culture in a new art exhibit.
•  Leading the pack. Matt Frongillo ’01 takes first place in a 26.2-mile foot race while Sam Vineyard ’96 cruises to victory in a sailing competition that took participants from Massachusetts to Bermuda.
