Alumni value networking10/15/2009
Recent C.A.M.E.L (Camel Alumni: Meet, Exchange, Libate!) networking receptions saw great turnouts in New York City, Boston and San Francisco.
In New York City, alumni met across the street from the Empire State Building at Legends Sept. 16.
Over 60 camels turned out for the event, hosted by Alumni Association Director Andrew Bogle ’94 and Jennifer Claire Scott ’94. The Class of 2009 was welcomed with open arms.
The following night in Boston, alumni met up at 28 Degrees, hailed by Boston magazine as having “marvelous martinis and a chic clientele.”
About 30 alumni turned out for the event, including some who had recently relocated from Washington, D.C. Alumni Association Director Jamie Bridges ’00 and Matt Magida ’07 coordinated the gathering.
“All in all a great event,” said Bridges. “It’s nice to see so many people enthusiastic about these events, coming again and valuing the networking.”
On Oct. 1, San Francisco’s first C.A.M.E.L. reception took place at Mr. Barber Shop and Urban Lounge. Nearly 40 alumni – from the Class of 1971 to the Class of 2009 – came to the event, hosted by Alumni Board Director Knute Gregg ’94, Jordana Gustafson ’01 and Jim Folger ’05.
“I thought it was a great success, especially given that it was our first event out here on the west coast,” said Gregg.
The attendance continues a trend that started last year, when alumni turned out in droves – up 50 percent from the previous year – for regional events.
