MANCHESTER, Conn. --The Connecticut College men´s cross country team opened the season Saturday with the Trinity College Invitational at Wickham Park. Many members of the squad did not compete but the Camels did have five freshmen in the race that made their collegiate debut.
The team finished ninth with a score of 260 points. Stonehill College won the invitational with a score of 33 points. The College of New Jersey scored 83 points in second place and American International grabbed hold of third place with a score of 93 points.
Andrew Duarte (Rocky Hill, Conn.) posted a time of 17:39 on the 5k course in 40th place as the highest Camel finisher. Tristan Cole (St. Helena, Calif.) was next, finishing 68th with a time of 18:20. Patrick Myers (South Burlington, Vt.) was 77th with a time of 19:02.
Mark Roberto (Marblehead, Mass.) and William Martinsky (Monroe, Conn.) finished 85th and 86th with respective times of 19:23 and 19:46.
