Camels Earn Weekend Split at Tufts
Wise Buries 16 Kills in Friday Night's Triumph Over Bowdoin
MEDFORD, Mass.--The Connecticut College volleyball team (5-2, 1-1) visited Tufts University for the opening weekend of New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) play. The Camels earned a split in their two matches, upending Bowdoin 3-1 (25-16, 20-25, 25-15, 25-19) in Friday night´s opener and falling to Tufts in three close games (25-21, 25-23, 25-22) Saturday.
Senior Lauren Wise (Oakton, Va.) buried 16 kills to lead the Camels in Friday´s win. Molly Barrett (Medfield, Mass.) chipped in with 11 kills and three service aces for the victors. Junior setter Marissa DeMais (Hillsdale, N.J.) dished out 38 assists with 15 digs for the Camels.
Katie Ketcham (San Francisco, Calif.) distributed 31 assists in Saturday´s setback to the Jumbos. Senior middle blocker Meg Christman (Wilmington, Del.) had eight kills and four blocks for Connecticut College. Sophomore libero Ally Terlizzi (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) contributed 16 digs to lead the Camel defense.
Connecticut College will host the Mitchell College Mariners this Wednesday night for a 7:00 p.m. match at Luce Fieldhouse.
