Connecticut College 7, Mount Holyoke 2 Smith, Heupel Lead Camels to Victory

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass.--The Connecticut College women´s tennis team (1-0) collected a 7-2 victory against Mount Holyoke College (0-2) at the Mount Holyoke Tennis Courts Tuesday. Cassie Smith (Shelburne, Vt.) and Becca Heupel (Eden Prairie, Minn.) paved the way to the victory for the visitors with dominating straight set wins at #1 and 2 singles. Smith coasted to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at #1 singles and Heupel rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 win at #2 for the Camels. Smith and Heupel joined forces in an 8-6 win at #1 doubles for head coach Paul Huch´s Camels. Sophomore Brittany Badik (Madison, Conn.), Alicia Cauteruccio (Boston, Mass.) and Jen Herbert (Stonington, Conn.) chipped in with straight set victories in their respective slots at #4, 5, and 6 singles.
