NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Connecticut College women´s soccer team (4-8) erupted with three goals in a span of 14:25 and went on to defeat Mitchell College (4-9) 4-0 in a non-conference contest played on Tempel Green Wednesday. Brigi Palatino (Ludlow, Mass.) scored twice to lead the Camels in the victory. Jacqui Durand (Natick, Mass.) and Sharon Katz (Barrington, R.I.) chipped in with scoring strikes for the Camels, who dominated the game with a 35-to-1 advantage in shots. In the 27th minute of action, Durand got the Camels on the board when she chipped a corner into the box. Molly McRoskey (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) was able to collect the loose ball in traffic and played the ball back to Durand, who angled one inside the right post for a score from 16 yards away. With 12:50 remaining, the Camels double their lead. Junior Emily Webb (Newport Coast, Calif.) controlled a 50/50 ball at midfield and dropped a lead pass on the ground to Katz, who pulled away from a pair of Mitchell defenders for the 15th goal of her career. The Camels netted their third goal with 3:45 remaining in the half. Sophomore Jill Cote (Portsmouth, R.I.) booted a high arching corner into the center of the scoring box. Palatino elevated with a header that found the back of the net to make it a 3-0 game at the intermission.
