Camels Secure Third 20 Win Season in Past Four Years
NEW LONDON, Conn.--For third time in the past four years, the Connecticut College volleyball team has reached the 20 win plateau. The Camels (20-5) received a balanced effort in a 3-0 victory at Rhode Island College (17-16) Wednesday night.
The game scores were 26-24, 25-16, and 25-13 in favor of the Camels. Ally Terlizzi (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) registered 13 digs for the victors. Marissa DeMais (Hillsdale, N.J.) dished out 28 assists in the win.
Rachel Schroff (Palos Verdes, Calif.), Meg Christman (Wilmington, Del.) and Amy Newman (Los Angeles, Calif.) had seven kills each for the Camels. Junior Chelsea Manning (Cockeysville, Md.) contributed four blocks for the visitors. Jessie Lasher (Plymouth, Minn.) buried a pair of kills for the winning side.
The Camels will host Wesleyan University Friday night in an 8:00 p.m. NESCAC contest at Luce Fieldhouse. Seniors Meg Christman and Lauren Wise (Oakton, Va.) will be honored in a pre-match ceremony.
Connecticut College is one of five teams in the league that will enter the final weekend of the regular season with a shot of hosting the 2009 NESCAC Championship Tournament from Nov. 6-8.
