MANCHESTER, Conn.--Connecticut College sophomore Doug Wright (Darien, Conn.) posted a time of 27:35 on the 8k course at the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men´s cross country championship held at Wickham Park Sunday. Wright placed 26th for the second straight year to pace the Camels, who scored 238 points as a team in their ninth place finish.
Williams College captured its fourth consecutive conference crown by placing five of its runners in the top 13. The Ephs scored 40 points and were followed by Amherst College, who finished a distant second with 88 points. The Tufts University Jumbos scored 90 points en route to their third place finish.
Hamilton College's Peter Kosgei (Kapsabet, Kenya) became the first male to win three consecutive individual championships, completing the course in 25:40.
Nate Lovitt (Madison, Conn.) crossed the finish line in 27:43 as the second Camel scorer in 30th place. Junior Shawn Mulcahy (Lebanon, Conn.) was 60th with a time of 28:15. Julian Gallo (Peabody, Mass.) checked in with a time of 28:50 in 79th place.
Tim Murtagh (Rowley, Mass.) posted a time of 29:14 as the fifth Camel scorer in 90th place. Andrew Duarte (Rocky Hill, Conn.) was 92nd in 29:24. Brett Herrick (Boxborough, Mass.) was the seventh Camel finisher in 101st place with a time of 29:48.
