Four Camel Sailors Honored by NEISA

NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College junior Maggie Shea (Wilmette, Ill.) and Kelly Arabia (Braintree, Mass.) have been honored as the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association´s Women´s Sailors of the Week. Seniors Christie Clothier (Newtown Square, Pa.) and Matt Sterett (Corpus Christi, Tex.) were named to the NEISA honor roll. Shea and Arabia won the A Division in the Victorian Coffee Urn Regatta at Harvard University, helping the Camels place second in the competitive 16 team field. With their performance, the Camels qualified for the upcoming Atlantic Coast Championship that will be held at Brown University Nov. 14-15. Connecticut College has climbed all the way up to ninth place in the Sailing World Magazine Collegiate poll. Sterett and Clothier contributed to the coed team´s ninth place finish in the 20 team field of the Erwin Schell Regatta. With their efforts, the Camels earned an invitation to the forthcoming Atlantic Coast Tournament hosted by Cornell University Nov. 14-15. Connecticut College is ranked #19 in the latest Sailing World Magazine Collegiate Poll.
