Dermody, Poole, & Bonito Set PRs to Lead Camels to 15th Place Finish at New England D. 3 Championship
CUMBERLAND, Maine.--Running the biggest the race of the season without Faye McKenna (Amston, Conn.) or Julianne Fowler (Guilford, Conn.) was not what anyone had hoped for, but the Camels rallied together on a rainy Saturday to finish 15th in the field of 45 scoring teams with a score of 483 points in the New England Division III Championship that was held at the Twin Brook Recreation Center in Cumberland, Maine.
MIT and Middlebury College finished in a first place tie with 63 points. The Williams College Ephs ran to a third place score of 99 points.
Sophomore Kerry Dermody (Erieville, N.Y.) set a personal record with a time of 23:55 on the 6k course to lead the Camels in 74th place. Junior Kelsey Taylor (East Hampton, Conn.) closed out her productive season by finishing 75th in 23:57. Senior captain Colleen MacPhee (Maplewood, N.J.) posted a time of 24:34 in 107th place for Connecticut College.
Melanie Poole (Middlefield, Conn.) and sophomore Ally Bonito (Guilford, Conn.) had record setting days as the next two scorers for the Camels. Poole ran her pr in a time of 24:40, placing 112th in the field and Bonito was the fifth Camel runner in 120th place with a time of 24:55.
Junior Chiara Pandolfi (Rome, Italy) and sophomore Lindsay Paiva (Coventry, R.I.) both completed the course in 25 minutes flat in 125th and 126th place finishes for the Camels.
