ITHACA, N.Y.--The Connecticut College coed sailing team visited the Empire State to compete in the Atlantic Coast Tournament at Cornell University this weekend. The Camels had a strong finish to the fall season, placing fifth in the 16 team field with a score of 53 points.
The Salve Regina Seahawks won the tournament with a score of 25 points. The University of Florida placed second with 42 points. The Rhode Island Rams scored 45 points en route to their third place finish.
Sophomores Peter Miller (Paget, Bermuda) and Katie St. George (Marblehead, Mass.) tallied 36 points to finish 11th in the A division. Junior skipper Wells Bacon (Mount Desert, Maine) and Elizabeth Wilsterman (Winchester, Mass.) rallied the Camels with a third place score of 17 points in the B division.
The 15th ranked Camel women competed in the Atlantic Coast Women´s Championship at Brown. The Camels placed 16th in the 18 team field with a score of 188 points.
The Boston College Eagles won the regatta with a score of 107 points. The College of Charleston was second with a score of 109 points and Yale University place third with 119 points.
Maggie Shea (Wilmette, Ill.) and Kelly Arabia (Braintree, Mass.) finished 16th with a score of 100 points in the A division. In the B division, Bitsy Whipple (Plandome, N.Y.) and Katrina Salk (Jamestown, R.I.) placed 13th in the field of 18 teams with a score of 88 points.
