Camels Place Seventh in 45 Team Field at UMass Dartmouth

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.--The Connecticut College women´s cross country team visited the Bay State to compete in the UMass Dartmouth Invitational Saturday. The Camels placed three runners among the top 50 to finish seventh in the 45 team field with a score of 242 points. Wellesley College won the invitational with a score of 41 points. MIT took second with 45 points and Keene State College placed third with a score of 93 points. Junior Lindsay Paiva (Coventry, R.I.) posted a time of 19:21 to finish in 36th place on the 5k course. Senior Chiara Pandolfi (Rome, Italy) was 40th overall in 19:27 for the Camels. Grace Glynn (Saco, Maine) checked in with a time of 19:39 in 50th place. Senior captain Kelsey Taylor (East Hampton, Conn.) logged a time of 19:46 to finish 55th overall. Junior Ally Bonito (Guilford, Conn.) placed 78th with a time of 20:05. Merry Byrne (Brookside, N.J.) posted a time of 20:09 to finish 83rd for Connecticut College. Kerry Dermody (Erieville, N.Y.) was the seventh Camel runner, placing 95th with a time of 20:18. The Camels also enjoyed a successful day in the junior varsity race, finishing fifth out of 33 teams with a score of 146 points. Molly Pistrang (Princeton, Mass.) was 25th overall with a time of 20:19. Katie Beers (Fayetteville, N.Y.) posted a time of 20:44 to finish 32nd. Michelle Wesley (Millwood, N.Y.) and Julianne Fowler (Guilford, Conn.) were the 40th and 41st runners to reach the finish line, posting respective times of 21:01 and 21:03 for the Camels. Libby Maret (Sandy Hook, Conn.) was 46th with a time of 21:11. Molly Bangs (Montclair, N.J.) took 57th place in 21:19 and Maura Hallissey (Wethersfield, Conn.) was the seventh Camel finisher in 21:45. Other finishers included Sarah Huckins (Henniker, N.H.) (81st place, 21:51), Ali McLeod (Brewster, Mass.) (146th place, 23:44) and Tessa Strelow (Winchester, Mass.) (176th place, 25:26).
