MANSFIELD, Conn.-The Connecticut College field hockey team stormed out of the gates with three goals in the opening 14:40 of regulation and went on to defeat Eastern Connecticut State University 6-0 in a non-conference game played in Mansfield Tuesday. The Camels remain perfect on the season with a 4-0 record while the Warriors slipped to 2-4 with the setback. Sophomore Britt Fitzgerald (Ridgefield, Conn.) and Laura Sanderson (Hanover, N.H.) both contributed a goal and an assist in the triumph. Abby Hine (Madison, Conn.), Kat Barker (Dedham, Mass.), KK Logan (Shelburne, Vt.) and Hanna Wagner (Sudbury, Mass.) chipped in with goals for the winning side. Aimee Rich (Darien, Conn.) did not need to make a stop in the opening half while Robin Edwards (Concord, Mass.) stopped three shots for the Camels in the second stanza. Eastern Connecticut State junior Danielle Reichardt (Ocean Township, N.J.) stopped seven shots in first half action and was relieved by senior net-minder Tia Mucciarone (Franklin, Mass.), who stopped 11 shots for the Warriors. The Camels held a 29-to-4 advantage in shots and piled up 24 penalty corners in the win. Hine scored what proved to be the game-winner 4:38 into regulation. She needs just six points to become the program´s all-time scoring leader.
