Manville Stops 11 Shots for Camels
AMHERST, Mass.--Kate Wegener (Brockton, Mass.) scored the equalizer in the 68th minute of action to lift the Connecticut College women´s soccer team to a moment-lifting point in a 1-1 draw versus Amherst College, the 19th ranked team in the HendrickCars.com/NSCAA National Poll.
The Camels extend their unbeaten streak to three games, improving to 2-2-1 and 0-2-1 in the NESCAC. Amherst is 3-2-1 and 2-0-2 in league play.
Kirsten Manville (Fairfax, Va.) had 11 saves in the match, none of any higher difficulty level than her diving punch stab on a point-blank shot by Drew-Douglas Steele (North Easton, Mass.) with 1:52 remaining in the opening half.
Claire Bennett (Westfield, N.J.) made three saves for the hosts, who held a 19-to-6 shot advantage in the game. Elizabeth Ludlow (Huntington, N.Y.) score in the opening minute of the second half for the Lord Jeffs. Amanda Brisco (Houston, Tex.) assisted on the tally.
