Rich Stops 13 Shots for Camels
BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Bowdoin College earned a 3-0 shutout victory against Connecticut College in a game played on Ryan Field Saturday.
The Polar Bears, ranked #6 in the latest NFHCA National Poll, remain undefeated with a mark of 6-0 and are 4-0 in NESCAC action.
The Camels slip to 5-2 with a 2-2 mark in the NESCAC.
Cathleen Smith scored with 8:05 remaining in the first half and the Polar Bears extended their lead when Jessie Small scored with 3:09 to go.
The Polar Bears added an insurance marker at 38:33 with a goal from Katie Herter.
Rookie net-minder Aimee Rich stopped 13 shots for the Camels. Emily Neilson had two saves for the hosts.
Connecticut College senior Abby Hine accounted for three of her team´s four shots. Earlier this week, Hine forged a tie with three-time All-American Emily Huffman ´04 as the program´s all-time scoring leader with 90 points. Hine could break the record this Saturday when the Camels host the Trinity Bantams for a 12:00 p.m. game in New London.
Camel Tracks: Hine leads the club with eight goals and 20 points. Sophomore Britt Fitzgerald has accounted for four goals, four assists and 12 points. Saturday´s game will feature a re-match of a 2009 NESCAC Championship Quarterfinal. The Bantams defeated the Camels 2-1 in that contest.
