Coast Guard 6, Connecticut College 3 Tucker Rallies for Victory at #6 Singles

NEW LONDON, Conn. --The Coast Guard men´s tennis team secured a 6-3 victory against neighboring rival Connecticut College in a match that was played at Luce Field House Tuesday. The Bears improve to 4-1 with the victory while the Camels fall to 1-2 in their final match of the fall season. Junior Greg Mitchell (Keene, N.H.) secured a 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 victory to lead the Bears at number one singles. Nick Martin (State College, Pa.), Austin Dean (Plano, Tex.), Chris Hoffman (El Lago, Tex.) and Josh Fischer (Roanoke, Tex.) posted wins in their respective slots at #2-5. Connecticut College freshman Will Tucker (London, England) rallied for an emotional victory at #6 singles. Tucker triumphed with 6-3, 4-6, 13-11 for the Camels to close out the match. Sophomore George King (Concord, Mass.) and Craig Stanton (Warwick, R.I.) notched an 8-5 victory at number one doubles.
