McAllister Finishes in 65th Place at ECAC Championship for Camels
BRISTOL, R.I.--Connecticut College junior Hoitt McAllister (McLean, Va.) posted a time of 27:54 en route to a 65th place finish at the 8k Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Men´s Cross Country Championship held at Colt State Park in Bristol, R.I. Saturday.
The Camels placed 25th in the field of 44 scoring teams in the Ocean State with a score of 677 points. The Williams College Ephs had three of their runners place in the top 16 to win the ECAC crown with a score of 94 points. The Panthers of Middlebury were the runners up with 123 points and the Johnson & Wales University Wildcats clawed their way to a third place finish with 149 points.
Sophomore Ross Peterson (Salem, Mass.) finished in 73rd place with a time of 28 minutes flat. Tristan Cole (St. Helena, Calif.) completed the course in 28:38 and was 114th in the field. Sophomore Patrick Myers (South Burlington, Vt.) was the 219th finisher with a time of 30:35.
Dan Post (Pepper Pike, Ohio) was the fifth Camel to cross the finish line with a time of 30:45 in 224th place. Willliam Martinsky (Monroe, Conn.) was next in 228th place, logging a time of 30:51 and sophomore Jeff Beling (Framingham, Mass.) posted a time of 31:55 to finish in 255th place for Connecticut College.
The Camels will now focus their attention on the New England Division III Championship. The race will be held next Saturday in Williamstown, Mass.
