Camels Will Host Nine Games in January
NEW LONDON, Conn.--Neumann University scored two goals in each of the final two periods of action to pull away in a 5-0 victory at Connecticut College Saturday.
The visitors improve to 6-4-1 with the victory, while the Camels fall to 4-5 in the setback.
Niki Blazenko (Burlington, Ontario) and Jessica Schroeder (Sudbury, Ontario) both had a goal and an assist in the second straight win for the Knights.
Sophomore net-minder Shannon Donnelly (Orleans, Ontario) stopped 38 Connecticut College shots in her second shutout of the season. Amy Leichliter (Westchester, Pa.) made 26 saves for the Camels.
Connecticut College will break for the exam period. But when they return to action in the month of January, the Camels will play all nine of their games on their home ice in New London.
First year forwards Courtney Dumont (Lewiston, Maine) and Olivia Farrell (New York, N.Y.) are off to strong starts. Dumont leads the NESCAC with five goals in conference play and has tallied six goals, four assists and 10 points so far. Farrell has chipped in with eight points on three goals and five assists.
In the first two months of the season, Amy Leichliter has registered 2.70 goals against average to go with a .899 save percentage and has made 214 saves with one shutout. The Camels have been strongest in the second period of action, where they have out-scored the opposition 15-to-10.
